Hello, I'm Sonya's Dream Behavior & Training.

Kyle is the equine behaviorist and trainer behind **Sonya’s Dream Behavior**, with a mission to improve the lives of animals through behavior- and welfare-centered training and management. Kyle’s equestrian career began in Northern Virginia’s competitive dressage world, working as an assistant trainer for a traditionally educated Grand Prix Dressage trainer. After nearly a decade focused on competitive goals, Kyle chose a different path—one centered less on scores and ribbons and more on understanding what horses need to feel safe, learn, and thrive. Throughout Kyle’s career, there has always been a particular connection with horses labeled “difficult” or described as having behavioral problems. That passion ultimately inspired Sonya’s Dream Behavior, named after a mare known for challenging behavior whom Kyle fell in love with and sought to understand. Today, Kyle continues studying behavior and welfare science, including the relationship between learning, emotional states, and animal behavior. The goal is to help owners and trainers better understand their horses and use thoughtful, welfare-conscious approaches that improve both behavior and quality of life.
